Brian Ortega Stuck In Mexico following a dispute with the Police

Former UFC title challenger Brian Ortega seems to have gotten in trouble with the local police during a visit to Mexico. The dispute resulted in Ortega having his driving license taken.

‘T-City’ shared the footage on his social media. He is unable to leave Mexico for the time being.

Ortega was born in Los Angeles, CA  but he’s spoken out proudly about his Mexican heritage. Despite his ethnic background Ortega wasn’t able to diffuse the situation. During his latest visit to the country, he appeared to have a run-in with local police at a traffic stop.

Ortega claimed that the responding officers refused to give him back his license and had asked for bribe. This offer Ortega appeared to decline.

“B*tch *ss corrupt cops wanted my money I told them f*ck you so they took my license so I won’t be able to get back home,”  Ortega shared in a video update attached below.

In the clip, Ortega also tagged Hermosillo city in the northwestern Mexican state of Sonora to be the area that seems likely where gotten in trouble.

The footage was also shared on Twitter by a user. In the tweet, he explained that Ortega declined to bribe the police officers and hoped that the UFC will help him to solve the problem.

“Brian Ortega told these corrupt cops in Mexico that wanted his money to fuck off, they took his license so now he won’t be able to leave. I hope the @ufc can help him out somehow.”

The UFC featherweight top contender last competed in September of last year, falling short against reigning champion Alexander Volkanovski in an all-time classic fight that saw Ortega almost finish the champion on multiple occasions.

Ortega is rumored to be in line to face fellow top-ranked contender Yair Rodriguez.

Ortega is still highly-respected and currently sits at No.2 of the UFC featherweight ranking, with only former champion Max Holloway and champion Volkanovski in front of him.
