UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya has never been one to shy away from speaking his mind. He has a reputation for being outspoken and has made quite a few rivals in the promotion as a result. However, he has also built some great friendships over the years.
One such friendship is with the current featherweight champion, Alexander Volkanovski. But it seems that Adesanya has found a great friend outside of the UFC world as well.
That friend is none other than Hollywood actor Jason Momoa, best known for his role as ‘Aquaman.’ Fans first learned about Momoa and Adesanya’s friendship through a YouTube video that Adesanya posted shortly before his bout with Alex Pereira at UFC 287.
Recently, Momoa shared a few pictures where he was seen hanging out with Adesanya. He captioned the post: “celebrating FAST X with my aotearoa ohana. trouble makers. not me the other guys aloha j.”
Adesanya shared the post to his Instagram story and wrote: “Them random nights are the best ones.”
Momoa’s social media posts make it evident that the best friends had an amazing time. Additionally, Adesanya seems to love Momoa’s company as he has made reference to his relationship with the actor on several occasions.
Adesanya met Jason Momoa while travelling to Miami, Florida, for his matchup against the Brazilian competitor at UFC 287.
Momoa is an avid fan of combat sports and was previously spotted hanging out and even grappling ADCC winner Gordon Ryan and his wife. This was seen as controversial at the time because the majority of Momoa’s following is left leaning while Ryan is leaning right and often sharing controversial content.
Adesanya was working hard at the time to prepare for his bout with Pereira. Adesanya referred to the actor as his “hot mate” after sharing the photographs.
