In a recent video, social media star turned boxer Jake Paul discussed his previous encounter with boxing legend Floyd Mayweather and alleged that Mayweather set unrealistic conditions for a potential matchup between the two.
According to Paul, Mayweather insisted he would need to weigh 160 pounds for any future bout, a stipulation Paul claims is “not even physically possible.” The YouTube sensation suggested this demand came after their previous meeting in the ring.
Jake Paul was born on January 17, 1997, and Floyd Mayweather was born on February 24, 1977.
That makes Jake Paul exactly 20 years and 1 month younger than Floyd Mayweather.
“When he fought me even as like an amateur boxer… landed way too many shots and he wasn’t able to knock me out,” Logan Paul said, reflecting on their earlier encounter. He added that Mayweather’s perspective on weight requirements changed following that night.
Paul also recounted specific moments from their previous match, stating, “I vividly remember Floyd going on June 6th, ‘I guarantee I’m gonna knock him out.'” However, Paul claims the reality played out differently, describing Mayweather as “sitting in the corner huffing and puffing” by the second round.
The social media star further alleged that Mayweather’s narrative shifted afterward, with the boxing icon claiming Paul “was holding him all night.” Paul seemed amused by these changing perspectives, noting, “The narrative changes, it’s just so funny to me.”
Mayweather is believed to be walking around at 67kg or roughly 150lbs – while the Paul brothers have weighed in anywhere between 180lbs and 225lbs – a hefty weight difference.
