Tito Ortiz Gets Called Out by Army Veterans for Chickening out on Visit after Veterans Day Post

Former UFC champion Tito Ortiz found himself in a heated social media exchange with military veterans over an alleged 2006 incident in Iraq. The controversy unfolded in a series of comments where veterans claimed Ortiz had declined to visit their base in Iraq during a period of active combat, with Kellie Pickler reportedly taking his place.

A user identified as “kingthedros” initiated the discussion by recounting an incident from 2006, stating that Ortiz had allegedly opted out of visiting their base in Iraq following a firefight. The comment garnered significant attention, receiving 14 likes and sparking a chain of responses from other apparent veterans who claimed to have been present during the time period.

Ortiz strongly denied these allegations, responding with “lie” and “now I know your lying. Shame.” However, the veterans doubled down on their claims, with one offering to provide evidence by tagging “about 100” other service members who could corroborate the story.

The exchange became particularly notable when another veteran, “jdamandkemp,” supported the account, specifically referencing events from 2007 and mentioning their experiences during what they called “the Surge,” apparently referring to the Iraq War troop surge of 2007.

Ortiz has been one of the funniest personas in the MMA community however he also tries to portray himself as masculine and smart so it’s certainly contradictory to see him get called out – especially considering Kellie Pickler actually stepped up and took his place.

It’s worth mentioning this was on the same IG that Ortiz got banned from – for accidentally posting clips of his fiance coming out of the shower.
