The highly anticipated UFC 303 press conference featuring Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler has been postponed. Initially set for June 3 in Dublin, the event’s cancellation left fans and media in suspense. While the promotion did not disclose the reason behind the postponement, speculation arose that McGregor might have sustained a minor injury ahead of his much-anticipated return to the octagon.
Many fans speculated that the postponement might be related to PED issues or legal troubles. However, veteran reporter Ariel Helwani quickly debunked these rumors. Helwani confirmed that the UFC 303 event headlined by the McGregor-Chandler matchup would proceed as planned on June 29.
McGregor addressed the cancellation on social media, citing “obstacles outside” their control. It was reported that McGregor might be dealing with a minor injury. Following the news, McGregor also canceled several other media commitments.
McGregor has not competed since his devastating loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021, where he suffered a first-round knockout after breaking his leg.
The postponement of the UFC 303 press conference in Dublin was a significant disappointment for fans. Tickets for the event reportedly sold out in less than four minutes, representing McGregor’s star power.
In a recent post on X, McGregor expressed his regret for the cancellation and promised to deliver an unforgettable performance in the cage upon his return.
He wrote: “In consultation with the UFC, todays press conference was cancelled due to a series of obstacles outside of our control. I apologize to my Irish fans, and fans around the world, for the inconvenience and appreciate all your passion and support. I can’t wait to put on the greatest all-time show in the Octagon.”

UFC 303 promises to be a thrilling event despite the press conference setback. The co-main event will feature a light heavyweight bout between Jamahal Hill and Carlos Ulberg. Additionally, fans can look forward to a matchup between Mayra Bueno Silva and Macy Chiasson on the card.
