Bruce Lee set to appear in his anime series “House of Lee’ this Summer

It seems like the late legendary martial artist and actor Bruce Lee is set to make a grand return to the spotlight. This time. he will appear in a new anime series named ‘House of Lee’ slated for release in 2024.

The first trailer for the series is expected to debut alongside the 50th-anniversary 4K re-release of Lee’s iconic film ‘Enter the Dragon’ which is scheduled to hit theaters on August 13 and 16.

For years, Bruce Lee Entertainment has envisioned an anime series dedicated to their namesake. Now, this vision is becoming a reality through a partnership with the renowned animation studio Shibuya. Emily Yang (co-founder of Shibuya) is also involved in the project, although her specific role remains undisclosed.

‘House of Lee’ promises to captivate audiences with its compelling storyline. The series follows Bruce Lee as he assembles a team of “Dragon Warriors” to prevent the world from descending into “darkness and shadow.”

This narrative draws inspiration from one of Lee’s famous quotes: “Those who are unaware they are walking in darkness will never seek the light.”

Shannon Lee is Bruce Lee’s daughter, and will be playing significant role in this project. She expressed her enthusiasm for working with Shibuya after being impressed by their ‘White Rabbit’ anime short. Shannon’s involvement ensures that her father’s legacy is honored and accurately portrayed.

A brief teaser for ‘House of Lee’ has been released on Shibuya’s official Twitter account, though it offers limited details about the series. Fans can look forward to more information soon, with a full-length trailer set to debut alongside the 4K re-release of ‘Enter the Dragon.’

Bruce Lee’s influence on cinema remains unparalleled. His most notable films include ‘The Big Boss,’ ‘Way of the Dragon,’ ‘Fist of Fury,’ and ‘The Game of Death.’ Additionally, Lee’s work in the American television series ‘The Green Hornet’ further solidified his status as a cultural icon.

‘House of Lee’ is poised to be Shibuya’s most prominent production to date, marking their first full-fledged anime series. The studio has previously worked on high-profile projects like Steve Aoki and Seth Green’s ‘Dominion X’ and the ‘White Rabbit’ miniseries by pplpleasr and Maciej Kuciara.
