Joe Rogan Claims Texas’s Efforts To Ban Weed Are Tied To People Drinking Less And Traceable Political Interests

Joe Rogan discussed Texas efforts to restrict weed during an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience featuring Francis Foster and Konstantin Kisin. Rogan connected the proposed restrictions to declining drink sales and argued that financial interests may be influencing the debate.

Rogan stated, “In Texas, we have an issue right now where they’re trying to ban weed and why they’re trying to do that because drink sales are way down. Like way down, like disturbingly down.”

Rogan then pointed to another possible reason for the decline in drinking consumption, saying, “And one factor that a lot of people aren’t taking into consideration is GLP1s. It’s Ozempic. There are millions of people on GLP-1 and millions more that are lying about being on.”

The conversation moved toward the difference between spending money on drinking and using weed. Rogan said, “Weed, $600 you’re dead. You smoke $600 of the weed will mess you up for a month. You’ll be just lying in your bed going, ‘Why did I do that?’”

He compared that cost with a night out drinking, saying, “You bring five buddies, you’re picking up a tab, they’re picking up a tab, you guys are having fun, you’re drinking, you’re ordering, but you have five $600 at the end of the night. Easy.”

The discussion then turned directly to political funding. Rogan said, “The Texas thing is all about the drinks. It’s like traceable money to Dan Patrick and some other people. It’s traceable. Like you could see how these people support him and you see that they want this and because it’s like it’s hurting their business.”
