Metallica Accused Of Abandoning Their Message In Favor Of MAGA

During a recent episode of his live chat show, combat sports analyst Luke Thomas delivered sharp criticism of legendary metal band Metallica for what he sees as a complete abandonment of their anti-establishment roots in favor of corporate interests and political alignment with conservative values.

The commentary came in response to recent statements from Metallica members about keeping their performances apolitical and focused on “good music, good vibes, energy and love.” Thomas found this stance fundamentally at odds with the band’s history and lyrical content.

“Metallica is out there saying it’s about good music, good vibes, energy and love,” Thomas said. “Have you seen the cover of Injustice for All? Have you read the lyrics for Master of Puppets? ‘Freedom of choice is made for you, my friend.’ Didn’t you sing that song?”

Thomas argued that the band’s evolution from rebellious anti-authority figures to wealthy performers disconnected from social and political realities represents a betrayal of their original message. He pointed to their current status as ultra-wealthy touring artists as evidence of how far they’ve drifted from their roots.

“They’ve gotten to the point now where they’re just old rich guys,” Thomas explained. “They’re performing at the Sphere. They’ve been touring the world for 30, 40 years. Their lives are so disconnected. It doesn’t matter what happens in the government. Their lives will never be affected. It doesn’t matter that one party may do one thing. They’re going to be just fine no matter what.”

The analyst was particularly critical of what he sees as coded political messaging disguised as neutrality. When artists claim they want to avoid controversy and just provide entertainment, Thomas suggested this often masks conservative political leanings.

“Whenever you hear someone be like, ‘I just want to be here for a good time, I’m not here for that other stuff,’ it’s like, you’re MAGA,” Thomas stated. “You’re MAGA and you don’t want to admit it.”
