YouTube sensation Jimmy Donaldson (known globally as MrBeast) recently appeared in an interview with The New York Times. Among the topics discussed, MrBeast revealed his admiration for certain business leaders, including Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk.
When asked about role models during the conversation, MrBeast acknowledged the challenge of finding direct comparisons to his unique position. “There’s not really anyone who’s doing YouTube content at the level we’re doing while also trying to run a chocolate company while also trying to run a bank and this and that,” he explained.
However, he did point to specific qualities in established entrepreneurs that inspire him. Regarding Musk specifically, MrBeast stated: “Like Elon has some positive things about him. Sometimes he might say some crazy things on Twitter and other political things. But at the end of the day, like him for example, like his ambitions clearly endless and he shows that you can push boundaries in multiple industries at the same time and succeed and a person can juggle it.”
MrBeast emphasized that he looks for “nuggets” of inspiration from various successful individuals rather than trying to emulate one person entirely. He also cited Steve Jobs as another influence, particularly praising Jobs’ “endless obsession of just making the best product possible.”
The YouTube creator’s comments reveal his approach to building his own business empire, which now spans media production, consumer goods including his Feastables chocolate brand, Beast Games on Amazon Prime, and upcoming ventures in mobile services and financial platforms. His company, Beast Industries, currently holds a valuation of $5.2 billion.
The 27-year-old content creator has built an audience of over 1 billion followers across platforms and continues to push boundaries in the entertainment industry.
