Tate Brothers Officially Indicted on Criminal Charges in the UK

Influencer brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate have been formally charged in Britain with r*pe and other serious crimes, prosecutors announced Wednesday.

The charges, which were actually authorized in January last year but not publicly confirmed until now, mark the first official acknowledgment by the Crown Prosecution Service that the duo faces criminal charges in the UK.

According to prosecutors, Andrew Tate, 38, is facing 10 charges related to three women, including r*pe, actual bodily harm, human trafficking, and controlling prostitution for gain. His younger brother Tristan, 36, has been charged with 11 offenses related to one woman, including r*pe, human trafficking, and actual bodily harm.

The charges stem from allegations dating back to between 2012 and 2015, according to Bedfordshire Police, who issued the warrant for the siblings last year.

The Tate brothers, who hold dual U.S. and British citizenship, relocated to Romania in 2016. Both are former professional kickboxers who have amassed millions of followers on social media platforms. Andrew Tate in particular has gained notoriety for his controversial views on women, which have attracted a large following among young men drawn to the luxurious lifestyle he portrays.

A CPS spokesman said: “We can confirm that we have authorised charges against Andrew and Tristan Tate for offences including r*pe, human trafficking, controlling pr*stitution and actual bodily harm against three women.

“These charging decisions followed receipt of a file of evidence from Bedfordshire Police.

“A European Arrest Warrant was issued in England in 2024, and as a result the Romanian courts ordered the extradition to the UK of Andrew and Tristan Tate.

“However, the domestic criminal matters in Romania must be settled first.

“The Crown Prosecution Service reminds everyone that criminal proceedings are active, and the defendants have the right to a fair trial.

“It is extremely important that there be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings.”

Following the BBC’s report on the charges, Andrew Tate took to the X social media platform, writing: “They do this to any man who fights against them. Never give up men. Never give in. Do not be scared,” apparently referring to the government.

This isn’t the first legal trouble for the brothers. They were arrested in Romania in late 2022 and formally indicted last year on charges of participating in a criminal ring that allegedly lured women to Romania where they were sexually exploited. Andrew Tate was also charged with r*pe in that case. Both have consistently denied all allegations against them in Romania.

British prosecutors have revealed that Romanian courts have issued an order to extradite the two to the UK once their current court case in Romania concludes.

The brothers were photographed just last week outside a police station in Voluntari, Romania, where they are required to report regularly while facing charges there.

Tates had no immediate comment on the UK charges.

The case continues to develop as authorities in multiple countries pursue serious allegations against the high-profile siblings.
