Wrestler who stopped Raja Jackson speaks out

Doug (known by his ring name “Just the Epic”) has broken his silence about the controversial assault that occurred during a wrestling show. During the event, Raja Jackson attacked wrestler Syko Stu.

The incident began when Syko Stu mistakenly hit Raja with a beer can, thinking he was part of the wrestling act. What followed was a premeditated attack that left Stu with severe injuries including broken facial bones, missing teeth, brain swelling, and a medically induced coma. Doug was the only person who intervened to stop what he describes as an attempted murder.

“I promise you he would have killed him,” Doug stated during an episode of the Scaling Up podcast. “He would have killed me if he would have got the best of me. If he would have took my legs out from under me like he was trying to.”

Doug revealed that he had been asked by event organizers to monitor the situation, suggesting premeditation from those who brought Raja to the event. “They told me that they, you know, made up, shook hands, hugged it out multiple times. So, it was going to be fine, but they just want to make sure,” he explained.

Doug described watching other wrestlers and supposed friends of Stu stand by as the attack unfolded. “I’m looking at Stu’s friends staring at me. Not running in. I’m only running in,” he said. “These people are sitting in a ring watching a man get beat to death that they call their friend.”

After intervening, Doug found himself fighting Raja, who attempted to continue the assault. “He shoots a double leg on me… Then you punch me in the eye after we’re breaking it up, you loser. That’s why you got headbutt. That’s why I punched you,” Doug recounted.

The aftermath has been equally troubling, with Doug alleging that people at the wrestling school have been encouraged not to cooperate with police investigations. This has led him to sever ties with the organization entirely, despite being there for three years.
