Woke Champion? Israel Adesanya voices support for abortion rights

United States are going through a turbulent time in their history with the Supreme Court’s decision to strike down Roe v. Wade possibly restricting access to the medical procedure that aims to terminate unwanted pregnancies.

While many majority-Catholic countries have recently legalized the procedure, the US seems to be moving in the opposite direction.

Ireland, South Korea, Columbia and Mexico have all lifted bans on terminating pregnancies.

Nobody’s quite clear on how this will impact people’s lives but UFC champion Israel Adesanya is certain that it won’t be for the better.

So called Stylebender, recently shared with hordes of his fans:

“I wanna talk about this real quick… It’s been all over my timeline and it’s disturbing. Just read some of the quotes… This is how some people in power think in their heads. Can’t wait till these old people die out with their outdated ideas and the world can progress.”

Adesanya also shared the following video to help boost the cause:

This isn’t the first time Adesanya is weighing in on the topic. He previously reacted when the decision to overturn was made.

He wrote, “men shouldn’t be making laws about women’s bodies.”

Adesanya has repeatedly been outspoken about his opinions including criticizing the UFC in how they treat athletes who they’ve just signed.

He’s currently on a medical break following another successful title defense against Jared Cannonier. Adesanya is likely to be facing Alex Poatan Pereira the next time he defends the title. Poatan has two victories over Adesanya in kickboxing.
