Watch: Adesanya Mocks Whittaker With UFC Strike NFT Chain

Israel Adesanya is feeling like a real winner as of late. Adesanya just signed a ‘historic’ new contract with the UFC that he believes will even have trickle down effect to fighter pay.

But for his appearance at the UFC 271 press conference Adesanya opted another good marketing move. He wore the UFC Strike NFT chain featuring a clip of himself knocking out Robert Whittaker at UFC 243.

When asked about the jewelry he chose to show off Adesanya answered:

“This is a moment from the UFC NFT Strike Collection… This is a moment that’s from UFC 243 when I took out Rob Whittaker. It’s on replay and it just shows the moment over and over… again. But this weekend, I’m looking to create another moment so, yeah, this is fun.”

UFC has helped launch ‘Strike’ NFT marketplace in collaboration with Dapper Labs. THe profits from the sale of digital collectibles are rumored to be evenly split between the promotion and the fighters.

Priced at US$50 each, the UFC’s NFTs will feature iconic moments and highlights. First drop consists of staggering 200,000 NFT packs each containing three highlights. The first half was made available on January 23rd following UFC 270.

This particular NFT that Adesanya is sporting wasn’t part of the UFC Strike Fully Loaded Moment listing.
