A sucker punch from an Arizona Wendy’s worker rendered an elderly customer unconscious. In the footage, you can clearly see the older man collapsing to the ground after receiving a punch.
The police claimed that the customer complained about the order, which did not go well with the employee.
The customer was unaware of the coming punch. The man was identified as Kendrick, a 35 year old employee.
“The customer fell to the floor, striking his head, and lost consciousness,” Prescott Valley police disclosed on July 28, when they arrested Kendrick. The customer was taken to a local medical facility, where his condition is still serious.
After punching him to the side of the head, Kendrick walked behind the counter, collected a few items, and left the building.
The police could not retrieve the contents of the conversation leading to the exchange because the surveillance video had no sound. They are still investigating the matter. Customers said nothing could justify such an ugly attack on an older person.
“Oh, wow that was a pretty hard hit — that was a Mike Tyson hit,” one customer said.
“The customer didn’t touch him, so he had no right to touch the customer, period, end of story. I just think that’s horrible and wish it didn’t happen. It puts a bad light on our entire society.”
Another customer says he has been living in the area for 20 years and has never seen something like this. “It’s mellow up here, you don’t have that kind of stuff. It’s a shame. I feel for the guy that got hit. It’s not right.”
Wendy’s did not react to the video, although they will likely release a statement regarding the behavior of their (likely former) employee. Kendrick is booked on one count of aggravated assault due to the fact that the police are still collecting the evidence.
