(Video) UFC’s Marvin Vettori backs up rapper in club scrap

Italian rapper Tony Effe created a scene during a DAZN boxing event in Milan, Italy, last night (March 24, 2023), when he started a scrap with Italian rapper and pro-boxer Ion Real Deal.

In the ensuing chaos, Tony’s good friend and UFC middleweight Marvin Vettori knocked down Ion with a trio of hammerfists.

According to reports, the incident began when Tony Effe instigated a confrontation with Ion, who holds a 23-2-1 professional boxing record. Despite the odds being against him, Tony had a secret weapon: Marvin Vettori, who was attending the event as well.

In the midst of the scuffle, Vettori found himself in the right place at the right time and landed a trio of hammerfists on Ion, sending him to the ground. The video footage of the incident shows that Vettori may have even landed a soccer kick on Ion while he was down.

This didn’t stop Vettori from adding another victory to his record. Just a week ago, on March 18, 2023, Vettori participated in a UFC match opposite Roman Dolidze at UFC 286, and won via unanimous decision. Vettori is currently ranked No. 3 in the UFC’s Middleweight division, and he’s widely regarded as Italy’s best hope for a UFC championship.

The incident at the DAZN boxing event is unlikely to have any impact on Vettori’s title dreams, as the chances of UFC imposing any punishment are extremely low. Moreover, Vettori was defending his friend, which makes his actions understandable, if not excusable.

That being said, legal repercussions might still come considering the ample evidence and likely physical damage suffered.
