In a recent interview, mixed martial arts legend Tito Ortiz opened up about his experience with Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT), revealing some unexpected benefits that contrast with common misconceptions about the treatment.
Ortiz, who began the therapy approximately a year ago, described a marked improvement in his overall well-being, but not in the way some might expect.
“It’s only been a year now that I’ve been actually on the therapy that you guys have put me on and there’s no aggressiveness,” Ortiz explained, challenging the stereotype that testosterone therapy leads to increased aggression. “I’m calm and mellow.”
The former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion went on to detail the positive changes he’s experienced: “I wake up, I sleep great. I’m hungry all the time.”
When asked if the therapy met his expectations, Ortiz admitted the results were somewhat different than anticipated. “A little different just because of the sleeping and being able to have the motivation to get up and do stuff,” he said. “Not being like, I don’t want to do that. I used to sit in my room and all day I wouldn’t want to do anything.”
The interviewer pointed out that what Ortiz was experiencing could be described as regaining a “luster for life” and “vitality,” which they characterized as inherent masculine traits, including “aggressiveness.”
Health experts note that properly administered TRT under medical supervision aims to restore hormonal balance rather than create extreme changes in behavior or personality.
