In a recent video clip that’s making waves across social media, former UFC athlete Brendan Schaub appears to contradict himself within mere seconds while describing his exercise routine.
During what seems to be a podcast segment, Schaub confidently declares, “I do bench, deadlift, and pull-ups every single day. That’s it. And I run two miles in the morning, every.” When pressed about the frequency, he emphatically responds, “Every day,” adding “No rest.” However, mere seconds later, he backtracks, stating, “Five days a week, I take Saturday, Sunday off.”
There are currently a lot of speculations that Schaub has been riding the ozempic wave in Hollywood due to the drastic transformations his body had undergone in the last couple of years.

This latest inconsistency adds to a growing list of questionable claims about his athletic achievements. A while ago, Schaub found himself under scrutiny when strongman Thor Bjornsson challenged his assertion of benching 225 pounds for 40 repetitions – a feat that would surpass many elite NFL athletes, who typically max out at around 30 repetitions.
For context, using the standard NFL combine calculation formula (221.8+6.81×reps), Schaub’s claimed achievement would translate to a one-rep maximum of 494.2 pounds. This would be particularly noteworthy given that Bjornsson, a world-renowned strongman, suffered a pectoral tear while attempting 556.7 pounds.
Schaub’s athletic background includes going undrafted in the 2006 NFL Draft, followed by brief stints with the Utah Blaze in the Arena Football League. According to records, he was released in November 2006 without making the roster, and though re-signed in February 2007, was waived just two days later.
As social media continues to ridicule and dissect these claims, this case serves as a reminder of the fact that fitness levels come and go but internet is forever.
