(Video) UFC title contender gets scared to death by a mail man during a podcast

UFC light heavyweight Anthony Smith just got caught getting spooked on video.

The UFC veteran was talking to Michael Bisping when he suddenly freaked out and his face got white. When Bisping asked him about it, Smith responded by telling him what had just transpired in the background.

The uploader of the original video which contained the snippet didn’t edit this part out and timestamped it instead. The clip has hence been making the rounds on social media.

Some of the comments on it are having a good laugh at the elite level UFC competitor getting scared of a mail person. Meanwhile, others are pointing out that Smith might be suffering from PTSD stemming from the time his home got invaded almost two years ago.

It is known in the MMA community how Smith’s house in Nebraska was terrorized at 4 AM in the morning by a trespasser. Smith found the invader causing a ruckus in his house and proceeded to grapple him in order to subdue him.

Smith brawled with the invader for almost 5 minutes and described it “as one of the toughest” brawls of his life.

This is particularly poignant because he was dealing with an accomplished high school wrestler. He was able to take a lot of punishment from the former light-heavyweight title contender, before finally getting subdued. This incident made a lot of headlines and Smith has called it “terrifying”.

As far as his career is concerned, the “Lionheart” is currently ranked 6th in the 205-pound division. His last was a TKO loss against Magomed Ankalaev, where Smith broke his ankle.

He was going to compete against Jamahal Hill at UFC on ESPN+ 79 in March. However, Hill was pulled from the matchup.

Hill is now booked to face Glover Texeira for the vacant light heavyweight championship at UFC 283 next week.

This happened due to the unavailability of any strong contenders for the title.

It is unknown what’s next for Smith, as the UFC hasn’t announced an opponent for him yet.
