(Video) UFC rising star Ilia Topuria involved in an altercation at a Bar

UFC featherweight Ilia Topuria was seen on camera physically confronting with someone in a pub in Spain. However, it looks from the newly released footage that the other person may have provoked Topuria.

In a brief video footage making the rounds on social media, Topuria can be seen first ignoring a shove from an unidentified guy. However, the man ultimately gets the mixed martial artist irked enough to respond.

Initial sources said that the nameless person was pop artist Omar Montes. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case. Harry Davies of The Mirror pointed out that Montes does appear in the video, but he was not a part of the incident.

“The man who pushed Ilia in this video ISN’T @omarmontesSr – the singer (who is friends with Ilia) is the man to the right of him at the machine. Instagram story shows Omar wearing same t-shirt.”

The altercation was broken up after Topuria threw roughly three rights, all of which seemed to strike the unidentified person. However, Topuria has not made any public remarks about the situation.

The last time Topuria competed was at UFC 282, he handed Bryce Mitchell his first MMA defeat.

Topuria has a 5-0 record with four finishes since entering the UFC in 2020. Additionally, his previous two have earned Performance of the Night bonuses.

Topuria has engaged in altercations outside the octagon before. Paddy Pimblett and Topuria had a well-publicized altercation at UFC London in March of last year. The incident caused Pimblett to throw a bottle of hand sanitizer at the Georgian.

Topuria shared the video of the altercation on his Twitter page. He said that Pimblett was fortunate that his team was there to break it up.

Topuria then posted the video with the caption:

“I warned you! This is what happens when you disrespect me and my country! You saw me and wanted to greet me because you shit your pants… and you should thank my team because if it wasn’t for them separating me, I would have taken your head off. This is not twitter, this is real life!”
