(Video) UFC champ Sean O’Malley pokes fun at Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney after viral bout

In the aftermath of Ryan Garcia’s upset victory over Devin Haney, UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley couldn’t resist poking some fun at the boxing strategy employed by both boxers.

“Garcia, Devin Haney just got done. Very impressive from Ryan,” O’Malley said in a video shared on social media. “He was using an interesting technique. He would throw his left hook really nice through left hook. It really turned his back, would get him.”

O’Malley was referencing Garcia’s heavy reliance on his signature left hook, which proved to be the difference maker in the fight. Garcia knocked Haney down three times with that punch en route to winning a majority decision.

“Good fight,” O’Malley added with a laugh, making light of the somewhat one-dimensional strategy from Garcia that still proved effective against the previously unbeaten Haney.

The 28-year-old O’Malley is known for his outspoken personality and willingness to trash talk opponents and analyze fights across combat sports. His comedic breakdown of the Haney vs Garcia tactics continued that trend.

While Garcia’s left hook barrage exposed some defensive flaws in Haney’s game, it was still a courageous performance by the 24-year-old champion to sustain that much damage and go the full 12 rounds. The stunning result has already prompted talks of an immediate rematch.
