Power Slap star Sheena Bathory has found herself in an unexpected predicament following a routine training session. The Hungarian athlete, known for her viral moments and comparisons to MMA legend Ronda Rousey, is currently recovering from a rare and unusual injury that has left her temporarily without breast implants.
Bathory, whose real name is Franciska Szabó, rose to fame in November 2023 when her Power Slap performance allegedly outshone even pop icon Taylor Swift in terms of online views. The 32-year-old former wrestler and bodybuilder has been making waves in the slap world, but her latest headline comes from outside the arena.
Following a recent training session, Bathory experienced unexplained discomfort. After consulting with several medical professionals, it was actually a friend who suggested she have her breast implants examined. An MRI scan revealed that one of her implants had ruptured during her rigorous training regimen.
“We got the result, and the right one was completely broken,” Bathory explained to TMZ Sports. “The next day, [doctors] immediately took them out. So, currently, I am without breasts. I’m very flat and I’m three pounds lighter.”
This unforeseen setback has forced Bathory to adjust her competitive plans for 2024. While she had hoped to test her skills in the squared circle earlier in the year, she now anticipates a potential return to action in November. Despite the setback, Bathory remains optimistic about her recovery and future in the sport.
“Now I have to accept potential matches probably in November,” Bathory stated. “I think I will be ready because even though I feel good, I still have to bring back my performance which is gone in these six weeks.”
The incident sheds light on a rarely discussed aspect of combat sports – the prevalence of breast implants among female athletes. UFC strawweight Mackenzie Dern recently opened up about her own experience with implants, revealing that many fighters have them and that they are designed to be extremely durable.
“I know, like, a lot of the fighters, like, they have them too,” Dern shared in an interview. “They’ve done a lot of experiments. They’re very [strong].”
However, Dern also admitted to feeling nervous about potential complications during matches. “I do get nervous, like, with, like, silicone, you know, in the boobs, for it to pop or something. You know?”
As Bathory focuses on her recovery, the Power Slap world continues to evolve. Former MMA star Paige VanZant recently made a winning debut in the sport, sparking speculation about a potential future matchup with Bathory.
For now, Bathory is taking antibiotics and allowing her body to heal. She plans to begin a four-week training camp once she feels fully recovered.
