(Video) Scrap breaks out at Creed III screening

MGM’s Creed III opened to a franchise record of $100.4M globally, with $41.8M from 75 international box office markets.

France led markets with a $7.7M No.1 on 633 screens, 73% and 32% ahead of the previous Creed titles.

Following the screening of the Rocky franchise spin-off, some spectators were dissatisfied with the level of boxing on display. This prompted them to start a scrap during a screening at a French cinema.

The movie was directed by Michael B. Jordan, who portrays Adonis Creed. It has already amassed a gross of over $100 million worldwide since its release on March 3rd and has garnered a 7.4 rating on the popular entertainment database IMDB.

The scrap erupted during the end credits, when two attendees got into a conflict in the cinema aisles, much to the astonishment of other moviegoers. Several individuals attempted to quell the commotion, which was allegedly caused by one of the culprits spending an excessive amount of time using their mobile device.

Footage of the incident quickly went viral on social media, where it was shared with the caption, “CREED III is so hype that it has people breaking out in scraps as the credits roll,” amassing millions of views.

The third installment in the series sees Adonis Creed, the son of Rocky Balboa’s former nemesis-turned-ally Apollo, face off against his childhood friend Damian ‘Diamond Dame’ Anderson, played by Jonathan Majors, with the tagline “There’s no enemy like the past,” as Anderson seeks redemption.

Former WBC cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew reprises his role as ‘Pretty’ Ricky Conlan, Adonis’ adversary from the first Creed film who competed against him at Goodison Park. Florian Munteanu also returns as Victor Drago, son of Ivan and another one of Adonis’ previous opponents.

Canelo Alvarez, a four-weight world champion, makes a cameo appearance.
