Tension erupted backstage following UFC 314 in Miami as rising lightweight star Paddy Pimblett and welterweight contender Colby Covington engaged in a heated verbal exchange after Pimblett’s impressive victory over Michael Chandler.

Sources close to the situation report that the altercation began when Covington approached Pimblett while the Liverpool native was conducting  interviews. Witnesses describe the interaction as “intense” with both exchanging sharp words before security personnel intervened.

The backstage incident comes on the heels of Pimblett’s career-defining performance against veteran Michael Chandler.
