(Video) Military vet walks out in Captain America costume, submits opponent via Twister

Cage Titans 57 started with a bang. With majority of promotions on a New Years break, MMA fans were turning attention to smaller promotions including Cage Titans FC.

The two-day event took place in Plymouth, Massachusetts. The main event was the lightweight champion Joe Giannetti who defended his title against Saul Almeida.

This time, the brunt of the attention went to a military veteran by the name of Gerald Meuse.

Meuse was active in MMA as far back as 2013 but still coveted a lot of attention. His walk out alone was hilarious.

Meuse made his professional debut in 2018 in a bout he won against Jesus Javier Cintron but hasn’t competed since.

A lot of the time, when a mixed martial artist makes a dramatic entrance the crowd almost expects him to fail in the cage considering that the walk out consumed so much of the attention however Meuse was the exception.

Meuse caught Beauparlant in the third minute of the first round and submitted him via twister.

Prior to this event, Joshua Beauparlant had an MMA record consisting of 3 losses and no victories. Interestingly, Beauparlant hasn’t been able to get a win even during his amateur MMA days.

Meuse shared on his social media that he had accepted this bout on short notice and that he would be donating the entirety of his purse to charity.

“I have already committed to a veterans charity although haven’t chosen one. Plymouth Memorial Hall the venue where the fights are taking place is a memorial auditorium dedicated to fallen veterans from Massachusetts.”

Before the event, Meuse said that he had told everybody that he will try for a twister submission. He said that he had never attempted that submission before his appearance at Cage Titans 57.
