Controversy has arisen over the outfit choices of Kamaru Usman. Usman is often seen in bold and flashy outfits, inspired by his Nigerian heritage, with many of his choices not receiving praise from fans.
Usman’s fashion choices have also caught the attention of rival Leon Edwards, who has thrown shade at Usman during public appearances, claiming that the money has gone to his head and that he now resembles Terry Crews from the comedy film ‘White Chicks’.
During an interview on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, Edwards remarked, “He’s changed. Never got a t-shirt on. The money’s gotten to his head.”
Despite the criticism, Usman has continued to push the envelope with his fashion choices.
Recently a journalist caught Edwards off guard when he asked about Usman’s styling. Edwards ended up spiting out some water in a chuckle and jokingly replied, “I’m going to open a door for him and give him a path to follow his fashion dreams.”
Usman will be trying to recapture his Welterweight title this weekend at UFC 286 – in London.
