(Video) Khamzat Chimaev uses his wrestling skills while playing football

UFC middleweight contender Khamzat Chimaev showed off his unique approach to a friendly game of soccer, demonstrating that his wrestling instincts are never far from the surface.

In a recently shared social media clip, Chimaev can be seen participating in what started as a casual soccer match. However, when one player showcased superior footwork skills against him, “Borz” resorted to what he knows best – taking his opponent to the ground in a playful but decisive manner.

The incident comes as Chimaev maintains his conditioning while anticipating a potential title clash with Dricus Du Plessis later this year. Du Plessis, who recently secured a unanimous decision victory over Sean Strickland at UFC 312, hasn’t particularly impressed Chimaev, who dismissed the bout as “bullish*t” on social media.

“2025 I will take this belt InShAllah, and no one can stop it,” Chimaev declared on social media. The undefeated athlete, who will turn 31 in May, boasts a perfect 14-0 record, with his most recent victory coming against former champion Robert Whittaker at UFC 308 last fall.

Fans eagerly await the UFC’s announcement regarding Chimaev’s next appearance in the octagon, which is expected in the coming weeks.
