(Video) Khabib pretends to have difficulty submitting an AKA student

American Kickboxing Academy owner Javier Mendez shared hilarious footage from his gym. In the footage, UFC veteran Khabib Nurmagomedov can be seen pretending to be struggling to submit a student.

Khabib Nurmagomedov retired with a clean record of 29-0. ‘The Eagle’ has always dominated his opponents and has only lost two rounds in the UFC. Khabib left the UFC in 2020 following the death of his father Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov.

After confirming his retirement in 2021, Khabib Nurmagomedov continued his career as a promoter for Eagle FC and a coach. The former lightweight champion currently stays in the US and often visits his old gym the American Kickboxing Academy that is based in San Jose, California. The head coach and gym owner Javier Mendez shared some insights regarding how things operate inside his gym when Khabib is around.

Khabib can be seen hilariously pretending to have a hard time taking on one of his compatriots. ‘The Eagle’ also put on a wrinkled face to maximize his acting.

Javier Mendez was surely having a good time making fun of his gym members. In the caption he said he missed other AKA gym staple Daniel Cormier who always made great filming content.

“Funny how [Khabib Nurmagomedov] asks me to film this and all of sudden he makes faces like this. It was really hard for him to submit his fighters and brothers. This guy is a gem for filming & the only one that is really missing is Daniel Cormier. Both of them together is historical & great filming content.” Mendez wrote in the caption.

The American Kickboxing Academy procured a lot of remarkable fighters that managed to win UFC championships. Such as Daniel Cormier, BJ Penn, Cain Velasquez, Luke Rockhold, and Khabib Nurmagomedov.
