It’s very unfortunate when people aren’t capable of peacefully resolving a conflict.
De-escalating a conflict before it turns physical can be a challenging task, but it is always better than letting it escalate. You should always stay calm. The first and most crucial step is to stay calm yourself. Getting angry or upset will only add fuel to the fire and make the situation worse.
Listen to what the other person is saying, and try to understand their perspective. This will help you to find a common ground to resolve the issue.
Show the other person that you understand their feelings and frustrations. Let them know that you are willing to work with them to find a solution that works for both parties.
Always treat the other person with respect and dignity, even if you don’t agree with them. This will help to defuse any tension and make it easier to find a solution.
