(Video) Former UFC champion Henry Cejudo apprehended a suspect who allegedly plowed a vehicle into neighbor’s house

Friday night, former UFC champion and Olympic gold medalist Henry Cejudo stepped in to apprehend a suspect who allegedly drove a vehicle at high speed into a neighbor’s house.

Cejudo, who witnessed the incident unfold, described the chaotic scene: “All of a sudden I see this car, our neighborhood is kind of like a U, so I see this car coming with a huge right turn, probably going 80 to 100 miles an hour. Next thing you know I hear a big sound and boom, I knew he had hit something or somebody.”

The vehicle crashed into a residential property with four passengers inside. According to Cejudo, the impact was severe enough that “if somebody was standing they’d be dead.” Miraculously, all occupants survived the crash.

“All these kids are lucky to be alive,” Cejudo remarked. “They all got out little by little, and then one of them kind of got away.”

The situation escalated when one of the suspects allegedly assaulted the homeowner. “He ends up co-cocking my neighbor,” Cejudo stated. “That’s when I had to step in.”

Using his world-class wrestling skills, Cejudo subdued one of the suspects. “I went to kind of, you know, fight the situation, ended up dropping them, lifting them, dropping them, stopped them around a little bit, and just pretty much controlled them with only one arm,” he explained.

Local authorities reportedly arrived at the scene and took over the investigation. The extent of damage to the property and potential charges against the suspects remain unclear at this time.

Cejudo, who retired from UFC in 2020 before making a comeback, demonstrated that his quick reflexes and athletic abilities extend beyond the octagon and into real-world situations.

Neighbors have expressed gratitude for Cejudo’s intervention, which potentially prevented the suspects from fleeing the scene before authorities arrived.

Henry told Helen Yee: “This is my last one. I want to leave this sport unscathed. The first time at the age of 33, I did it right, retired young. I got one more in me, make some money, then that’s it. I’m out.”, revealing he has one left in him and is considering retirement following his eye injury.
