After a guy jeered Khamzat Chimaev in a casino lobby, UFC fans on social media were in an uproar.
After his odd activities leading up to UFC 279, Chimaev converted many of his fans into detractors. Chimaev, who was born in Chechnya, was 7.5 pounds overweight for his welterweight match against Nate Diaz.
The incident put the entire card in danger. However, the event was salvaged thanks to game athletes.
In the co-main event, Chimaev eventually competed against Kevin Holland.
Even worse, Chimaev made it plain that he didn’t care about the opinions of his supporters and attempted to minimize his fault. Naturally, the unbeaten rising star in the UFC over the weekend became one of its greatest antagonists.
While filming Chimaev, a fan shouted, “You missed weight,” at the UFC ace to show his anger. Guram Kutateladze, a kickboxer in Chimaev’s group, slapped the man’s phone from his hand.
The majority of commenters think the heckler earned his punishment. He is also likely guilty of clout-chasing.
Some social media users, however, were aware that it required serious bravery to provoke Chimaev. They noted that had his crew chosen to pursue him, he may have sustained serious injuries.
Khamzat Chimaev was not just overweight but he also took part in a backstage brawl at the UFC 279 press conference.
The 28-year-old was adored prior to UFC 279 but is now one of the UFC roster’s most despised.
Chimaev received a barrage of boos throughout the performance. But remained unapologetic afterwards saying:
“You care about that sh*t? I don’t care. I care about my family. I care about my career. I care about my money. … One day they’re with me, one day they’re not with me. So, I’m real, guys. So, I like the people that are real. Not fake people going one way or going the other way.”
