At the UFC 314 press conference last Thursday has captured the internet’s attention after a couple was caught on live television engaging in a revolting act that left even then former champion Alexander Volkanovski visibly stunned.
During the pre-fight media session where Volkanovski was fielding questions ahead of his featherweight title clash with Diego Lopes, the Australian became noticeably distracted mid-answer, his attention drawn to something occurring in the audience.
Footage of the incident, which has since gone viral with over three million views on Happy Punch’s TikTok page, shows a male spectator seated near the front row appearing to pick his nose for several seconds. The woman beside him then eagerly opened her mouth, allowing him to place his finger inside.
The unhygienic exchange left Volkanovski so distracted that he admitted to missing part of a reporter’s question, saying, “Sorry, I got the back end of that question,” as he struggled to regain his composure.
Social media users responded with a mix of humor and disbelief. “God forbid a couple have a hobby,” wrote one commenter. Another added, “that’s true love right there,” while a third observed, “A generous gentleman feeding his wife.”
Despite the unexpected distraction during the press conference, Volkanovski managed to maintain his focus for Saturday’s bout. He defeated Diego Lopes by unanimous decision to reclaim the featherweight title, ending a two-match losing streak that included knockout losses to Islam Makhachev and Ilia Topuria. His previous defeat had come 14 months earlier in February 2024.
