(Video) Colby Covington gets caught reading off of a script in Fox News segement

UFC welterweight Colby Covington made headlines recently with his candid remarks about masculinity and politics during an appearance on Fox News Channel’s “The Ingraham Angle.” The outspoken athlete, known for his controversial statements, shared his views on what he perceives as the Democratic party’s approach to traditional masculinity.

Covington, a vocal supporter of former President Donald Trump, criticized Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, suggesting that their actions are merely for show. He specifically pointed to an image of Walz holding a shotgun, claiming it was an inauthentic attempt to appeal to certain voters.

The star argued that “real men” in America can see through what he described as political theater. He expressed dissatisfaction with the current administration’s policies and actions over the past four years, accusing them of causing harm to the country.

In contrast, Covington praised Trump as a symbol of masculinity and fearlessness. He depicted the former president as someone willing to face danger head-on, emphasizing Trump’s decision to continue his political involvement despite having the option to retire comfortably.

For once, Covington wasn’t wearing spectacles so it was fairly apparent he was reading off of a script. This has been a widely publicized claim about Covington. Previously, Colby Covington made a surprising splash at UFC 286 by showing up to weigh in, stealing the spotlight from the main event. The drama escalated when Dana White announced Covington as the next title contender, sparking outrage among fans and fighters alike, particularly Belal Muhammad, who many believe is more deserving of a shot. In the aftermath, Covington dominated headlines with inflammatory statements, including labeling Muhammad a racist and making threats towards Jon Anik’s family. However, it’s rumored that much of Covington’s antagonistic persona is scripted by his ghostwriter, John Harnett, who has a history with Covington dating back to their American Top Team days.

Harnett is thought to be the mastermind behind the insults that target Covington’s rivals. Even MMA journalist Ariel Helwani acknowledged Harnett’s influence, suggesting Covington’s recent theatrics were intended to shift the UFC’s stance in his favor.
