(Video) Boxing great Andy Ruiz accidentally smashes coach during training session

Andyr Ruiz’s coach unintentionally showed off his strong chin during a training session. He ate a big left hand from ‘Destroyer’ and managed to still stand.

Former heavyweight world champion Andy Ruiz pulled an upset when he knocked out Anthony Joshua in 2019 and unified the heavyweight titles. However, his reign didn’t last long as they had a rematch several months later, where Joshua snatched back his titles via unanimous decision.

Ever since he lost his title against Anthony Joshua, Ruiz barely entered the ring. He only had 1 match each in 2021 and 2021. He faced Chris Arreola in 2021. Ruiz was last seen in the squared circle in September 2022. He exchanged blows with Luis Ortiz for 12 rounds and won via unanimous decision.

Recently, Andyr Ruiz showcased his training session on social media. The 33-year-old uploaded a video of him and his coach doing pad workouts. Ruiz can be seen throwing a vicious combo on the pad. However, his coach thought the combo was over and lowered the pad. It was at this moment when Ruiz’s vicious left hand landed right on his coach’s face.

Amazingly, his coach didn’t get knocked out. He only lost balance for a bit but was still standing. Ruiz immediately apologized to his coach and hugged him. Several fans on social media jumped to the comment section to praise the coach’s durability.

“He took that like a champ!”

“That was a serious left that connected. He did take it well.”

“I’d be out cold.”

“Great chin. Unfortunately that happens sometimes when your working mitts or any type of hand held bag the trainer forgot about the last hook on that combo ouch.”

Andy Ruiz is aiming to face former champion Deontay Wilder, who just bounced back from a back-to-back loss. Both parties already agreed for a match in 2023, but are still in negotiations.
