(Video) Boxer Electro-shocked Exiting Ring in”Smoke up Before You Box” Event

An unexpected incident at an unconventional boxing tournament in Thailand has gone viral after a professional bpxer received an electric shock while attempting to cool off after his match.

The event unfolded at the VVED Boxing Championship on Phuket Island, a unique tournament that combines traditional boxing with some highly unusual pre-match requirements and venue setup. Unlike conventional boxing events, this promotion mandates that competitors “take a puff” before stepping into the ring – a practice that has raised eyebrows throughout the combat sports community.

The tournament’s distinctive feature is its poolside ring placement, designed to allow boxers to take a refreshing dip immediately after their bouts. However, this seemingly appealing concept proved dangerous when professional MMA veteran Ivan Parshikov discovered a serious safety hazard.

Parshikov, who boasts an impressive 16-5 record and has competed in major promotions including ONE Championship, RCC, and ACA, was riding high on a four-bout winning streak when he participated in the event. After completing his match, the experienced star decided to take advantage of the poolside setup and dive into the water to cool down.

What should have been a routine ritual turned into a near-disaster when Parshikov encountered improperly grounded spotlight wiring around the pool area. The faulty electrical setup delivered a shock to the unsuspecting athlete as he entered the water.

Fortunately, the incident didn’t result in serious injury. According to reports, Parshikov “survived and even managed to swim” despite the electrical mishap, suggesting the electroshock, while alarming, wasn’t severe enough to cause lasting harm.

While the poolside ring concept may seem innovative and appealing to spectators seeking entertainment beyond traditional boxing, the combination of water, electrical equipment, and athletic competition creates obvious risks that this event’s organizers apparently failed to address adequately.

The tournament’s pre-match requirements have already drawn criticism from various quarters of the combat sports world, and this electrical incident will likely intensify scrutiny of the promotion’s safety protocols and overall concept.

Despite the experience, Parshikov appears to have escaped without serious consequences and continues his successful career.
