The T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas witnessed more than just the official weigh-in of Errol Spence and Terence Crawford. The two will be competing for the highly-anticipated bout for the unified welterweight crown on Saturday, July 29.
As two of boxing’s greatest prepare to clash in what promises to be an electrifying showdown, the anticipation reaches a fever pitch. But there’s more drama lurking under the surface, as other boxing personalities add fuel to the excitement.
Among those stirring the excitement were Caleb Plant and Jermall Charlo. Both of them engaged in a heated exchange of words, sparking an electrifying atmosphere.
A video was posted on Twitter by Michael Benson showed a brawl at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas almost broke out when Caleb Plant struck Jermall Charlo with an open hand.
What particularly started the argument before the strike is unknown. A guy who seemed to be a security officer soon escorted Plant away. Charlo did not respond, but followed Plant for a moment until being diverted by onlookers.
Plant shouted as he was pulled out a side door, “Don’t you ever grab me by my motherf*cking face again like that, boy.” It seems like there had been physical contact before the slap.
Plant is a former IBF super middleweight champion who is most known for his November 2021 match against Canelo Alvarez. On the other hand, Charlo is the 33-year-old current WBC middleweight champion. He has not competed since June 2021.
Adding another layer of intrigue to the unfolding drama, Saul Alvarez is scheduled to face Jermall’s twin brother Jermell Charlo on September 30 in Las Vegas.
It seems like the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas is not only hosting a remarkable match between Errol Spence and Terence Crawford but also igniting an intense atmosphere with the fiery clash of egos involving Caleb Plant and Jermall Charlo.
