Lucas Lazarini, a dedicated amateur boxer from Ponta Grossa, Brazil, passed away on Friday (April 18) after suffering complications from a brain hemorrhage. The 29-year-old athlete had been hospitalized in the intensive care unit of Hospital do Trabalhador in Curitiba since Saturday (April 12), when he was knocked unconscious during a match at the Paraná Amateur Boxing Championship in São José dos Pinhais.
The incident occurred during a bout between Lazarini, representing Panda Fighting Academy, and Gabriel Guimarães from Academia Leão de Judá. Video footage from the event shows the moment Lazarini fell to the canvas, prompting immediate medical attention.
Family members and training partners confirmed his death after Lazarini experienced severe head trauma that led to a cerebral hemorrhage. Despite intensive medical intervention throughout the week, his condition deteriorated progressively.

One of the most poignant tributes came from athlete and event organizer Paulão Zenidim, who wrote: “Champion @deadlazarini, if I had known that fate had chosen the oldest event in Latin America, @paulaofight, to end your career standing up, I would have done something better, champion… May God take care of you, brother.”
