Professional surfer Alessa Quizon proved that championship-caliber power runs throughout the Holloway household by outscoring her husband, UFC featherweight star Max Holloway, on an arcade punch machine during their recent trip to South Korea.
The friendly competition unfolded during the couple’s visit with former UFC fighter Chan Sung Jung, widely known as “The Korean Zombie.” The trio’s arcade adventure was captured in a vlog posted by Holloway, showcasing their exploration of South Korean culture, cuisine, and entertainment.
When the group encountered the arcade punching machine, what began as a casual test of strength between two professional fighters quickly transformed into an impromptu family competition. Holloway initially bested Jung in their head-to-head matchup, mirroring the outcome of their professional encounter at UFC Kallang in August 2023, where Holloway defeated Jung in the third round.
However, the highlight came when Quizon stepped up to take her turn. With perfect form and surprising power, she delivered a strike that registered a higher score than both professional fighters, including her husband.
“Unless it hits harder than Max, it’s official,” can be heard on the video as Quizon approaches the machine. After her impressive strike, celebrations erupted with declarations of “It’s official, new high score!”
The moment perfectly captured the playful dynamic between the couple, with Holloway’s proud reaction showing no signs of wounded pride as his wife claimed the household punching title. While Holloway has built his career on remarkable striking ability against world-class opponents, this lighthearted arcade moment will likely become a cherished family story.
The video quickly circulated on social media with fans commenting on Quizon’s unexpected power. One viral tweet humorously suggested UFC President Dana White should consider “signing Max Holloway’s wife, Alessa” after her impressive showing.
Beyond the arcade competition, Holloway’s vlog documented their culinary adventures throughout South Korea, with the UFC star jokingly expressing concern about the impact of the delicious food on his weight management as he prepares for his upcoming UFC 318 lightweight bout against Dustin Poirier scheduled for July 19.
For now, though, Quizon holds the family title as the reigning arcade punch champion – a distinction that even a UFC superstar must respectfully acknowledge.
