Former two-division UFC champion Henry Cejudo has become the target of theft. A brazen intruder entered Cejudo’s studio at approximately 4:45 AM and made off with his first UFC championship belt, which had been proudly displayed on a shelf.
The incident was confirmed by Cejudo’s producer, Dylan Rush, who was present during the break-in. “I was sleeping on the couch when someone broke into Henry’s studio,” Rush explained via social media. “I woke up and watched the guy stand there for two minutes, thinking it was Henry because it was dark. Then I heard a crash, the shelf fell, and the dude ran out.”
This unfortunate loss adds to Cejudo’s collection of missing accolades. The Olympic gold medalist previously lost his prestigious Olympic medal during the California wildfires several years ago. Now with his UFC flyweight title stolen, the man once known as “Triple C” (for his simultaneous possession of two UFC titles and an Olympic gold medal) finds himself in a diminished position regarding his trophy collection.
Cejudo, who also captured the UFC bantamweight championship during his illustrious career, has experienced a challenging period professionally. The Arizona-based athlete is currently working through a three-bout losing streak dating back to early 2023.
The former champion is expected to compete one final time before potentially retiring from mixed martial arts competition again. However, no timeline has been established for his return to the octagon.
Authorities have not released information about potential suspects or leads in the case of the stolen championship belt. The UFC has not commented on whether a replacement belt might be issued to the former champion.
