MMA fans have been left in awe after a clip of a 2v2 bout in the octagon went viral. The footage shows two fighters from each side of the cage rush towards each other before engaging in an intense ten-minute battle.
In the video, the fighters with blue gloves, Chiky Arroyo and Pau Peñalba, come rushing out of their side towards their red glove opponents Alberto Rondán and Nicolás Martínez. The clip then cuts to around 25 seconds into the fight, with pairs of fighters trapped in a corner.
One blue fighter can be seen missing a punch aimed towards a rival but ducking just in time so that he is missed by the second red fighter’s punch. The other blue fighter then attempts to grab the red opponent from behind, but is thrown over his shoulder and into the wall.
After a minute of intense action, the clash had evolved into one-on-one battles, with the first blue fighter forcing his opponent into submission. He then helped his team-mate submit the second opponent by punching his stomach while his team-mate had him in a chokehold.
Fans were left stunned at the sheer chaotic energy of the fight, with one commenting: “How is this a real thing???” Another said: “1x 10 min round is nutty lmaoooo.” A third added: “Where is this? Crazy.”
The video was of a huge combat sport event called Dogfight Wild Tournament 2nd Impact played out at the Tarraco Arena in Spain back in February. Not only was there a 2v2 match on the night, but also a blockbuster 3v1, a Blood Contact and a No Rules bout.
Former World’s Strongest Man Eddie Hall and YouTube-boxing influencer KSI have famously taken part in 2v1 fights, though the former was an MMA bout and the latter a boxing match.
