Usman Speaks Out On UFC’s Bias Against Francis Ngannou

Kamaru Usman has come out in support of Francis Ngannou. Ngannou has been trying to translate his success in the cage into a financially more lucrative contract with the UFC. Ngannou is reportedly on the last fight of his contract – however UFC frequently practices using the ‘champions clause’ ie auto extends champion’s contract by one fight therefor preventing the champion from becoming a free agent.

Recently, UFC posted a picture of both Ngannou and challenger Cyril Gane on the stories of their official Instagram page. However, they referred to ‘Bon Gamin’ as ‘The Champ’ while they wrote ‘The Predator’ on the heavyweight champion Ngannou’s image.

UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman was the first to notice this and put the UFC on blast. He quickly responded to the UFC by reposting a story on his account with a confused face emoji.
Once called out UFC social media manager was quick to edit the error and had subsequently treated both competitors equally.

Usman will be cornering Ngannou this weekend. The Predator started out as a slight favorite – but the tides have since turned.

Ngannou hasn’t been the underdog since 2019 fight against Cain Velasquez.
