Umar Nurmagomedov scores convincing victory cornered by his brothers, opponents thinks he won?

Umar Nurmagomedov has big shoes to fill. The 2nd most talented Nurmagomedov has been with the UFC since 2021.

He was booked to fight Nate Maness at UFC Vegas 57. In lead up to the fight Maness wasn’t pleased with the treatment he was getting due to his opponent’s last name.

“He’s great. I don’t think anyone can watch him and say that he’s not great. (But), you know, the odds show a little bit disrespectful towards my side I think,” said Maness. “(It’s) just ’cause of that last name. I’m coming to fight… these are the fights I want.

“I think it’s good for my friends. Man, they’ve made all kinds of money since I’ve been in the UFC. So, it’s all good,” added Maness. “I mean, (Nurmagomedov) is great, he’s a great fighter. I don’t have too many bad things to say about Umar.”

But as luck would have it – the odds had it on the nose.

Nurmagomedov kicked things off with a leg kick. Maness tried to charge in and surprise UMar but the flurry struggled to connect. Very early on Nurmagomedov took Maness down.

Nurmagomedov landed in guard and began working. He was trying to stack Maness but ultimately wasn’t able to finish even though he ended the round in mount delivering ground and pound.

In round two, Maness was once again taken down by his Dagestani opponent. Nurmagomedov once again aimed for full mount but Maness was able to stop him and counter. Ultimately he landed on the back of Maness. From there he threw hands once again but was unable to entice the referee into stopping the bout.

In round 3, Nurmagomedov spiced it up and landed several head kicks prior to landing yet another takedown. This time Nurmagomedov was a little less hard up for progress, knowing he was up on the cards. He threw big elbows from the guard instead.

In the end, all three judges scored the match in Nurmagomedov’s favor – Umar Nurmagomedov def. Nate Maness by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-26, 30-25). In an odd moment Maness actually thought he was awarded the victory when the score waS read – as if he wasn’t just there getting beat up for 3 rounds.
