UFC’s Tracy Cortez auctions off worn shorts for $3.4K

In the world of sports memorabilia, rare and exclusive items can fetch astronomical prices, and the UFC community is no exception. Recently, a pair of fight-worn shorts used by Tracy Cortez during her UFC Fight Night: Grasso vs. Shevchenko 2 bout has been sold for a staggering $3,400 at an online auction.

The event, which took place on September 16, 2023, at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada, saw Cortez take on Jasmine Jasudavicius in a preliminary card bout in the women’s flyweight division. Cortez emerged victorious, defeating her opponent via unanimous decision in the third round, cementing her status as a rising star in the sport.

The shorts, which have been autographed by Cortez herself, were listed as an exclusive item on the UFC Collectibles platform. Fans and collectors alike were given the opportunity to own a piece of UFC history, with the unframed shorts being the main attraction.

The auction, which was closely followed by the MMA community, saw a fierce bidding war as enthusiasts vied to secure the coveted item. In the end, the winning bid of $3,400 was placed, underscoring the incredible value that fans place on such memorabilia.

The sale of Cortez’s fight-worn shorts is the latest in a series of high-profile auctions involving UFC athletes. Recently, Valentina Shevchenko’s UFC 275 shorts were sold for $5,000, further demonstrating the growing demand for authentic, event-used gear from the world’s top fighters.

Unlike Shevchenko and Cortez, Hannah Goldy took it a step further auctioning off her undergarments she wore during weigh ins for Molly McCann bout a while ago.

Goldy launched her OF account at the time to raise money for her newly purchased home. The athlete was juggling three jobs at two gyms and a restaurant while the pandemic affected her UFC career.

As the UFC continues to captivate audiences around the globe, the thirst for exclusive and meaningful collectibles shows no signs of abating.
