UFC’s Justin Gaethje discovered that his golf skills could pay off in ways beyond the octagon when he secured second place at the recent Fanatics Fest celebrity competition, earning himself a brand new Ferrari.
The event, described as “kind of like Comic-Con but for athletes,” brought together 50 professional athletes and 50 regular participants to compete across various sporting challenges. What started as a fun celebrity showcase turned into a serious payday for the lightweight contender.
During a recent episode of the Joe Rogan Experience featuring UFC bantamweight contender Cory Sandhagen, the conversation took an unexpected turn when they discussed how Justin Gaethje’s golf obsession paid off in a big way – literally earning him a Ferrari.
“Gaethje got to do like the Fanatics game,” Sandhagen explained. “He said he won because he was good at golf. So, the f**king guy won a Ferrari cuz he got second place. Tom Brady got first. He got a million dollars and then like a normal like nonprofessional athlete got third place. Got like 200k.”
He won a brand new Ferrari 296 GTB.

Rogan was visibly surprised by the revelation, exclaiming “Holy s**t” multiple times as Sandhagen continued the story. The fact that Gaethje’s golf skills directly translated into winning a Ferrari seemed to blow both away.
The conversation revealed just how serious Gaethje has become about golf. According to Sandhagen, who heard the details from Daniel Cormier, Gaethje’s dedication to the sport borders on obsessive.
“DC told me that he started off and he was just kind of okay, but over the time between the Holloway fight and his fight with Fiziev, he didn’t do anything but play golf for a year. He played like 260 days in a row,” Sandhagen shared. “And he said his handicap just kept getting better and better and better and better. He said the next time he played him, he’s like, ‘Holy s*it he’s really good now.'”
Both Rogan and Sandhagen agreed this level of dedication makes perfect sense for someone with Gaethje’s personality. “He’s a psycho,” Sandhagen noted. “If that guy gets his mind on something, he’s going to excel.”
What makes this story particularly amusing is that Gaethje, known for his attractivee style and “Just Bleed” mentality in the octagon, found success through the precision and patience required for golf. The same mental fortitude and obsessive dedication that made him a feared lightweight contender translated perfectly to mastering the links.
Rogan, who has openly discussed his own fear of becoming hooked to golf due to its time-consuming nature, seemed both impressed and slightly horrified by Gaethje’s commitment.
