UFC’s Jean Silva once lost in MMA due to a diarrhea, He even was forced to poop cageside right before stepping into the octagon

In a candid interview with Full Send, UFC’s Jean Silva revealed an uncomfortable and rarely discussed aspect of combat sports – how bodily functions can sometimes interfere with athletic performance in the most inconvenient moments.

Silva recounted a particularly challenging experience from earlier in his career when nature called at the worst possible time – just moments before he was set to enter the octagon.

“So, there was a fight a long time ago and the event was an open-air venue and I just needed to get out there to fight, and as soon as I got out there to fight, I got diarrhea and it was a pretty s—– situation,” Silva explained.

The Brazilian described how the environmental conditions contributed to his physical distress before the bout.

“Dude, I was getting sick because it was open air, it was cold as s—, I was already trembling and cold and all of a sudden, I felt it,” he said.

What happened next was something few athletes would admit to experiencing. When the cutmen were performing their routine pre-fight checks, Silva found himself in a desperate situation with no time to reach proper facilities.

“By the cutman when they were just checking me out, I just stepped off to the side and did it right there, man. I had to do it,” Silva admitted.

Despite the unfortunate circumstances, Silva proceeded with the match, but acknowledged that the physical distress severely impacted his performance.

“No way I could win. The guy beat the s— out of me,” Silva said of the outcome.

Silva’s story highlights the rarely discussed physical challenges stars may face beyond the obvious risks of competition, showing that even elite athletes aren’t immune to the most basic human experiences – sometimes occurring at the most inopportune moments.

Loopy Godinez recently went viral thanks to a similar ordeal.

During her unanimous decision win over Julia Polastri at UFC Mexico City, Loopy Godinez went viral for an unfiltered moment caught on camera, where she told her corner between rounds, “Holy sh*t, I need to poop.” In an interview with Ariel Helwani, Godinez revealed she’d been sick leading up to the card and began experiencing stomach issues while rehydrating after her weight cut. Despite chills and discomfort, she pushed through, joking that if the bout had gone five rounds, it could’ve gotten messy. The candid comment, though unintended, added a humorous twist to her otherwise dominant performance.
