UFC’s Colby Covington Wants To Fight LeBron James For Confronting Stephen A. Smith

UFC star Colby Covington has issued a strong challenge to NBA legend LeBron James following James’s recent confrontation with ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith.

The incident that sparked Covington’s response occurred during a Lakers game on Friday, when James approached Smith regarding comments made about his son, Bronny, on First Take.

Smith later explained the encounter on his show: “That was LeBron James coming up to me, unexpectedly, I might add, to confront me about making sure I mind what I say about his son. That wasn’t a basketball player confronting me, that was a parent, that was a father.”

The ESPN host acknowledged James’s parental concerns, stating, “By all accounts, he’s obviously a wonderful family man and father who cares very, very deeply about his son, and based on some of the comments he had heard or shall I say I think he thought he heard, clearly took exception to some of the things he heard me say, and he confronted me about it.”

When asked about the incident, Covington responded with characteristic intensity, challenging James directly. “It’s America, freedom of speech, f’n LeBron. Do you not realize we have constitutional amendments for a reason,” Covington stated, before continuing with more provocative comments directed at the NBA star.

This isn’t the first time Covington has publicly criticized James, as the UFC competitor has previously made numerous statements about the basketball superstar, maintaining a long-standing pattern of verbal challenges.
