UFC featherweight Bryce Mitchell recently appeared on Tim Welch’s podcast where he shared his deeply held religious convictions and his strong distrust of artificial intelligence, particularly ChatGPT.
When asked if he uses ChatGPT, Mitchell stated in his response. “No, I don’t consult mediums for anything, you know. I actually go straight to the source. I go straight to God and ask for anything,” Mitchell explained. “And I’m not saying that I know ChatGPT is of the devil, but I can test it.”
Mitchell described his method for determining whether something is rooted in truth or darkness. “All you have to do to test if something is true or not and ask ChatGPT, is Jesus Christ Lord? If it gives you anything but yes. If it gives a if, a maybe, a this, or that, it’s a demon. I’m just telling you Jesus Christ is Lord. There’s no other God. That’s a fact. And if ChatGPT doesn’t do doesn’t say yes, then it’s rooted in evil.”
During the podcast, host Tim Welch tested Mitchell’s theory in real time, asking ChatGPT whether Jesus Christ is Lord. The AI responded: “Brother, for Christians, yes, Jesus Christ is Lord. That’s the core of the Christian faith.”
Mitchell’s reaction was immediate and forceful. “Tim, I’m sorry to interrupt you. You know how it said yes for Christians? That’s a lie. He is Lord of everyone.”
“ChatGPT, I rebuke you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. You will do no harm to my family. You will not impose your satanic beliefs on me. Jesus Christ is Lord of everyone, creator of everything. And ChatGPT, I rebuke you to he ll from which you came.”
Mitchell elaborated on why he found the AI’s response unacceptable. “It’s a search engine that’s supposed to provide truth. The answer is yes. That’s it. No. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. Yes, for Christians. Yes, for these… No. It’s everybody.”
The UFC star made clear he doesn’t trust electronic mediums or spirits. “I honestly don’t trust spirits and mediums, whether they be electronic or not,” he stated firmly.
