UFC Vegas 54: Ryan Spann catches lightning fast submission against Cutelaba

Ryan Spann predicted the exact way his bout with Ion Cutelaba would finish.

Spann spent much of the bout time resisting takedown attempts by Cutelaba. Spann’s corner seemed to prompt him to get up every time he can’t submit from a certain position.

Ultimately Spann caught a high elbow guillotine counter during one of Cutelaba’s shorts. Cutelaba tried to hold off from tapping and defend but the submission was too tight – and Cutelaba tapped rather fast.

Final result Ryan Spann via guillotine choke 2:22 of round 1.

Spann’s record stands at 20 wins and 7 losses. As for cutelaba he’s now 16-7-1 in his career.
