UFC Provided Derrick Lewis With Peptides That Made His Recovery “Stupid” And Became A Game Changer For Him

During a recent episode of The Beast and the Cowboy podcast, UFC heavyweight contender Derrick Lewis opened up about performance enhancement that has transformed his training camp and recovery process.

The discussion revealed how the UFC’s provision of peptides has become what Lewis describes as a game-changing element in his preparation.

When asked about his current fight camp progress, Lewis was emphatic about the improvements he’s experiencing. “I ain’t going to even lie to you. I’m in the best shape of my life right now,” Lewis stated. “Mentally, physically, everything’s going great right now. I’m perfect. The UFC provided me with some great peptides and I’ve been taking it every day and I’ve been feeling the difference.”

His coach, Bob Perez, corroborated these observations with specific examples from training sessions. “Like dude I was so proud of Derek today. Dude, he was a freaking video game yesterday,” Perez explained. “He was a video game. He was responding like so his mental clarity I’m not just saying this mental clarity was on. So I’d make a call or an adjustment. He would do it immediately.”

The most remarkable aspect of the peptide supplementation appears to be the recovery time. Perez detailed a specific training session that demonstrated the dramatic improvement: “His recovery was… stupid. Yeah. So he did his three fives and then you know generally on Fridays you know it’s the lightest day.”

The coach continued: “He’ll go into strength and conditioning after that but he wanted to do some heavy bag work after and I was like please like let’s go and I was really mind blown how quickly the peptides took effect you know. It’s going to be a game changer for him.”

The host himself addressed taking such peptides during previous shoulder issues. He said: “I used to… could remember how bad my shoulder would get and I took mine. It’s super liquid, right? It’s almost like a water and it absorbs super quick. So mine, my shoulder felt better hours after.”

Perez provided additional context about the timeline for seeing results: “Coach Hollywood, you know, how long did I asked him how long does it usually take? And he was like, well, it could be a couple weeks. And you know, he hasn’t been on it that long. But if this is just like an indication, any indication of what we’re going to see, it’s crazy good.”

With these improvements documented during the podcast, Lewis and his coaching staff believe they’ve found a legitimate edge in preparation that could prove decisive in upcoming matches.
