UFC on ESPN 35: Gone in 40s – Brito TKO’s Andre Fili

Tonight’s UFC event is delivering. The card had many entertaining moments for martial arts fans.

On the main card of the night, the Brazilian Joanderson Brito took on a tough challenge that is Andre Fili in a featherweight bout.

Joanderson Brito got a UFC contract after beating Diego Lopes in Dana White’s contender series. He made his UFC debut against Bill Algeo on UFC on ESPN 32, however, the Brazilian ended up losing the contest by decision.

After the setback, Joanderson got back in the octagon against Andre Fili tonight, and he made it look easy.

As soon as the action started, he had Fili on the backfoot. Only 40 seconds into the bout, the Brazilian landed a devastating overhand right that send Fili to the canvas. After that blow, Joanderson Brito landed ground and pound, forcing the referee to call it.

After the contest ended, Joanderson Brito broke down in tears. In an emotional post-interview, he told Bisping that he received news of his uncle passing this morning. According to him, the terrible news motivated him to give his best in the MMA contest.

After getting his first UFC win, the Brazilian will look to climb in the much-contested lightweight rankings.

Meanwhile, Andre Fili might be on his way out the door. The longtime UFC veteran has only won one time in his last 5 UFC performances.
