UFC on ESPN 35: Brazilian dances his way to the Octagon, loses in under a minute

Ahead of his MMA contest against Francisco Figueiredo on the preliminary card of UFC on ESPN+ 35, Daniel da Silva appeared to be very relaxed. So much so that Daniel made his walkout dancing and enjoying himself to the sound of Brazilian Forró music.

However, some may say that Da Silva was perhaps, too relaxed.

As soon as the contest started, Da Silva landed a few body kicks and promptly took Figueiredo down.

However, as soon as the contest went to the ground, Figueiredo showed his superiority in the grappling department.

Figueiredo, a training partner of BJJ world champion Erbeth Santos, had Da Silva on his guard.

While Da Silva attempted to pass his opponent’s guard, Figueiredo threw his legs over and locked in a tight kneebar. The submission was so tight that it didn’t give Da Silva any time to try and defend the position.

In under a minute, Figueiredo finished Da Silva and was declared the winner.

With that victory, Figueiredo is now 2-1 in the UFC and is looking to climb up the rankings quickly.

During the interview,  Figueiredo stated that his performance only lasted one minute, and that, if the UFC so wishes, he will be looking to get back in action as soon as next week.
